Χρυσή κορδέλα σου κρατεί να δέσεις τα μαλλιά σου, ζουμπούλι μου. Στο βορεινό παράθυρο στο γιασεμί 'πο κάτω, μου 'πεσε το μαντήλι μου χαιρετισμούς γεμάτο. Πού είσαι διαμάντι και ρουμπί κι ανθέ του μαλαμάτου, που έχω δυο λόγια να σου πω του παραπονεμάτου. Ήθελα να 'μαι δάκρυ σου όταν θα κλαις να βγαίνω στο όμορφό σου πρόσωπο περίπατο να πιένω. Τα δάκρυα είναι δυο λογιώ, ένα των πονεμένων και τ' άλλο στη συνάντηση των πολυαγαπημένων. Φεύγεις και σφίγγω τη καρδιά, το δάκρυ μη προβάλλει για να το βγάλω στη χαρά όταν γυρίσεις πάλι.
